DG or Pigpen questions about your dak.....

Spawn

I'm just sittin here wasting time.. and
i have a few questions about your dakota.... #1 what mods were done to the 360? #2 what trans did you use? #3 stock driveshaft or custom? #4 was it difficult to run the fuel lines to the fuel cell? #5 i saw the pusher fan.... do you have pullers as well?

if i think of anymore i will be sure to ask...

if anyone else wants to help as far as tech advice.... just chime in....
thanks
Tom

(#1) .030 360 block (1978 casting) smogger heads wiwth 2.02 intake valves and a comp 262 cam. everything else is stock.

(#2) 727 trans but if you decide to use one make sure you clearance the pinch weld in the tranny tunnel where the firewall and floor pan meet. Otherwise tranny no fitty.

(#3) Had a C-body driveshaft shortened to fit it. Only about 100 bucks.

(#4) Easy as pie. I just ran them on the inside of the right frame rail.

(#5) No pullers, not enough room. The pusher you see in pics is actually a puller from a mid 80's firebird. Reverse the polarity and bobs-your-uncle you have a pusher. The engine runs cool becuse I hacked out the radiator core support to fit a 27" radiator from a 73 bigblock B-body.
Your Dakota has more room behind the grille so you will be able to cram in more crap.

OK Pigpen i have a couple more questions when you get a moment... what mods did you have to do to the ignition system? was there alot of hacking involved or a pretty straight forward setup? also.... did you use the mechanical pump on the side of the block? or did you use an aftermarket electric?

All the original wiring I removed except for the lights. The ignition wiring is a combination of what I yanked off a Newport and a 75 Dart. All standard chrysler crap. I still gotta find a chrome box.
Fuel pump is a carter high volume. usually runs at 11 psi at about 2000 rpm and 5 psi at WOT. Some reason the Eddy carb don't mind it. I do have a holley blue pump but thats for plumbing in for the happy sauce.
