Grumble, this really sucks! No, I'm still getting my BB Truck back, this is about my '89.
Coming home last night, got over an overpass to where it was ground level on the road, then BAM, I see this little deer darting across the road from the left. He was movin pretty good and I didnt have much time to react, so I went right as far as I could but I still hit it.
Kinda scared me as I pulled off, I'm thinkin MAJOR damage to the frontend and I didnt have my cell handy (I dont use it much, only in emergencys, or when I'm parked). Got out, inspected my frontend, miraculously the only thing I initially saw was the busted HL bezel, the bumper wasnt hardly touched, I'd partially twisted it up previously and it was twisted a bit more somewhat, but NOT contacting the body.
I also knew that it damaged my grille surround, but its not that bad, just in the lower parts where that bezel was busted.
I thought, hey that was it, but I gave the side a look, DANGET! My fender looks to be pushed down a tad up front and that put a small wrinkle in it above the wheel. Not bad but its noticeable. Then my drivers door is dented nicely, towards the rear along the lower body line. Its to the point it needs replaced. It also took off my wide black trim on the cab corner and the long piece that was on the front of the bed. Got the bed about an inch below it, near the bottom, put two creases in that.
So I didnt hardly escape damage as I initially thought! I've probably got about $1k to 1500 in damages! DANGET! Of course Liability only. I also wrecked it on the pass. front, so that fender is shot. Its looking more and more like I need a parts truck now.
I cannot catch a break with this thing! Now my drivers side, which was nice before, is wrecked.
