damnit...tell me its not true

Behind my Polysphere making engine noises and
Before, Jegs and Summit carried the same Weiand intake manifold for the early chrysler 318, it was a simple 4bbl aluminum intake. I can not find it in their magazines or sites. I'm gonna ask their tech department, but i think i missed my chance (which pisses me off big time, because when they were still listed, i didn't have the cash, now i do).

If anyone knows where i can find one, that'd be great. I really want that intake, since all the other aftermarket things they made for this engine are consider collector items that are through the roof in price.

I think they discontinued that intake. In the same boat with my father's car. Maybe they still have some surplus stock to sell. I believe the part number is 7503

Well, just got an e-mail back from Summit, they discontinued the line for the early chrylser (just as i thought), and they have none in the warehouse or on shelf, what they sold was what they had, and according to their sales department, they have none. And i checked my intake on mine, its got a 4-bolt pattern, and currently has a Holley....but the bolt spacing is too small to put on any modern 2-bbl like a holley 2300.

So looks like i'm stuck surfing e-bay and the parts section at the local shows and swap meets. If anyone has any info on a 4bbl carb intake manifold (cast iron or aluminum) let me know. I only need the 1x4, the 2x4 "spitfire" would be cool, but inpractical for my current application and plans. *sigh* time to go search e-gouge.

2x4's impractible on a 318.....says who. I'm running 2x4's on a stock LA 318 and still can get over 20 mpg.:giggedy:

And nothing beats the "wow" factor better than twin carbs. ;)

Eh, well then thats just my personal opinion then. But the main manifold for the Poly i'd be looking for would be that Weiand.....i do beleive it the was the Weiand Stealth Manifold for the early Chrysler 318. I saw a stock 4bbl intake on e-bay for a good price but i was a little leary, looked a little ratty and the guy said that type of mainfold for that engine was prone to craking. Plus the manifold weighed 60lbs...thats killer on shipping charges (which is the other reason i hoped Jegs or Summit still carried it so i'd get a good shipping rate). If any of you guys know where one is, let me know. I kinda want to pick it up before its classified as a collectors item (if it hasn't yet).

Found one (i think) at the last place i looked. Went on the Checkers website (partsamerica.com) and they have one under the "intake:performance" section in the replacement parts area (so it should be listed to fit my vehicle). If its not the right one, i'm going to see if i can return it to the local Advance Auto (they're also part of partsamerica.com) and get my money back. Damn well better be, its listed under 1965 D100 5.2, and its the Weiand Stealth intake manifold (says it comes with an adaptor ????). Like i said, we'll see.
