Two of my computers' hard drives go south at the same time.

My primary boot drive started hurling bits yesterday.

I started running some testss on it and figured I'd run the same tests on the hard drive in my wife's computer as it has been complaining for some time.

Now, I've got a new drive for my PC and I'm hoping the imprtant stuff will get transferred over from the old drive okay. I've lost some files but so far it doesn't look like they matter much.

My wife's computer won't even start to boot - even with alomst everything disconnected..

I spent all of last weekend fixing my work PC. Now it looks like I'll burn this weekend on these...

SUCKS. I lost 250 gig of music last fall. It was the only Maxtor I have ever had fail.

pc troubles do suck.....i hand my old stuff down to my wife..my current pc i got as a trade for installing a trans in a 2.5 aclaim..2gig 1g ram dual SB cards geforce4...im happy lol...wife got my old 1.7

Yep, I do the same most of the time.

Looks like her computer will survive. I've got Maxblast doing the partition boogie on it right now.

WD Data Ligeguard has been working away on my system for about 2 hours now and not even 60% done. Lots of file copy errors.
