And the price was exactly right :giggedy:

It's a Jefferson reciprocating saw, works very well for the few times I need something like that.

We used something like that in Machinery Repairman "A" school in San Diego. That was the last time I ever saw one too. LOL! Good score though. I'd like sither one of those, or a horizontal bandsaw, in my shop someday.

So how much was "right"?

It was free from a friends Dad, I broke the "automatic shut-off" on the way home.

it runs on bronze runners.. what lube should I put in the pot? cast, bronze, steel

probably gear oil, but thats just a guess. Try to see if you can find any info on the net about it. I found lots of cool info about my 1941 Atlas lathe that way.

I dribbled some 30 weight in it, Yeah i need to research it. the blade looks like an achievable deal.

It cut the four legs for my welding table ?

that sucks I'll send you the AVI upon request, bastard u toob got dang Al Gore inventing this MFer

very cool...old tools like that are ALWAYS cool.....looks like its got a considerable amount of stroke to it 4inches?

Wow, two minutes of watching a saw work. I haven't seen one of those in almost 30 years but it has to be one of the simplest tools ever made, gotta wonder why they don't get used more. Or you don't see new versions of them.

you do..its called a sawzall and its now portable and MUCH faster LOL

wonder what the blade wear rate on that is compared horizontal band saw

I don't know about that Jefferson model, but the ones I used would lift the blade slightly so it wouldn't try to cut the metal against the angled teeth of the blade. Kind of a straight cut, then up and back and repeat cycle. That way the blades don't get the tips of the teeth worn out and folded over.

easy to make. but xl says buy one and get on with it. but i home built. easy to do. fun to have and can be used -- depending on machine size -- on your motherinlaws roast rite at the table. altho a sawsall will work good and easy to cut bread with. allot better than dragging in your air tools. and the benifit is that it is quieter. to use. :bwuhaha::bwuhaha::bwuhaha::toot:
