Collector car ins! need some help!

RUSTY Cuda

In over my head!
Called hagerty's , all was about set when the rep said it must be stored in a garage, really can't & don't wanna rent for the car in it's current state(just not worth it) .
looked at a couple of others & same thing & also noticed no covereage at race tracks , does anyone offer a muscle car ins plan ? A lot of you guys race em, if you total at a track NO Coverage???
Finally got off my duff to get this car home & bamn stone wall?
Post up guys, gotta get ins so I can ship the car!

AFAIK, all the collector car insurance carriers require locked garage storage. FWIW, I just started a Hagerty policy.

For what its worth, the Silver Wheels plan I have on the Beetle says nothing on vehicle storage.
Good thing, 'cause the Bug sits outside - where all bugs belong.
Silver Wheels is underwritten by Aviva Ins. Company. I don't know if its available in the US or not. I went to the broker's website and left them a question on storage and US availability. I'll let you know the response.
I don't know of ANY insurance company that will cover you at the track, unless of course you're in the parking lot. Kind of a "take your chances" thing.

Thanks, don't care too much bout the racin part, but the garage thing is a bummer, this ain't a show car(yet) just a driver.
Resto, I will keep searchin & wait on what you come up with also, Thanks again all! Rich.

There is one company that offers insurance WHILE you are racing, but it's expensive. Prosport knows who it is, but I forget their name at the moment. Other than that, EVERY policy I've ever read specifically excludes coverage during "organized speed contests" and the like.

Also, every collector policy I've seen specifies that the car must be kept in a locked garage.

I have the Challenger insured through AON - owned by K&K Insurance. No milage or useage limitations and they have never asked me about having covered or locked storage.

I had it insured for 10,000 before all the paintwork etc and my rate was around $190.00 a year, full coverage with no deductibles - zero.

You can get a quote right on their site, and they go by an "agreed value" which basically means you state the value and as long as it's not some rediculous amount, that is the value they put on the policy.

Later!
Adam

K, BBD, yours is Not available in N.J. but found one today with garage as a question rather than a requirement, some one said a rider at more cost was available somewhere, so I'll wait for a quote from that one & if not keep searching, there's just too many cars under tarps in this world, someone has to fill this niche! [smilie=e: Rich.

Got the ins. for the 39 through my regular auto co. 8 mo. driving 4 mo storage----- no mention of what 4 mo. though 98.00 for 12,000 and 250 deduct. never ask me about where kept though other than for the 4 mo. off.

Tried to call my reg agent fri, but they took off early that day, am getting a bit nervous bout this, really cant sink over a grand into ins to drive the thing for a couple a hours a week!
Hell I'll sell the cheby & insure it for the boys to drive! woah, did I say that, never mind I'm trippin here! [smilie=e: Rich.

Bummer Rich. I know with Hagerty who I use it has to be in a garage when not driven. Wish I could help but my garage is full. Ron

Insurance

Hey Rusty Cuda... I just insured ours thru GRUNDY, it's in Hemmings, It's worth a try.... It's on the internet too, just search for GRUNDY insurance. Every insurance we have had DID NOTcover at the race track and most did want storage, but this company MIGHT have different options, they have an 800 number.
