I was given a FREE Chrysler boat on the weekend, its a approx 14 long with a cathederal hull and a 35hp Johnson. I don't have much more details other than it's about a 73?74 judging from an internet search. It needs a good cleaning and the seats are shot, but we will see what we can do with it!

The hull is fibreglass, he told me that he replaced the floor 5/6 years ago and took out all the old waterlogged foam that lightened the boat up quite a bit.

Guilty your honor

Lose the old johnson, poor fuel economy and unless you are privvy to special tools and such to be able to set them up correctly will never run right. I have a few but have never had one wet. I have 2 chrysler boats, 3 if you count my town and country wagoon. One is 318 powered and its an aluminum salon cabin cruiser and the old glass hull has a 331 hemi. Newer dependable outboards arent cheap and you might get lucky with the old johnson but I would be suprised, evenrude pts interchange.;)

I have Johnson and Evinrudes ranging from 9.9 to 40hp, have had no problems with any of them. But I know people who have, and then I get them at a good price!!:) It's the boat info I'm interested in.

Had a 90hp Force motor by Chrysler on my 17ft Chris Craft.:doubt:
Biggest POS motor I ever owned but other than that!:dgt:

Do you have pics of the Chris Craft? They're such a beautiful boat!:cool:

Well it's not the old wooden boats your thinking of but it was a nice first boat!

Only boats Ive ran this last season were ones I tripped. The personal navy has been reduced to only 7 craft and the ones left in the fleet are either the fastest or coolest. Fuel being consumed at a rate not to be adveretised I can only hope that I can recover my investment in said holes in the water.:hmmm:

I have a '66 Chrysler bass boat. It has a 40 hp Mercury on it. It's a heavy fiberglass try hull that is registered as a 16 foot but is closer to 19 feet. It's a great boat for fishing out of. Not allot of room though.

I'm totally jealous. The Johnson in my bedroom dresser drawer has far less than that.

Anyway, we've only got one boat, a GFF 19 1/2 foot with an Evinrude 90 hp engine. It's all put away for the winter, now.

Dustergal, do you need your Johnson tuned up? I help keep the wifes at max. hp!!LOL Anyhoo the boat is in a need of a major cleaning and could use some more hp, but we will see if it still floats! It has Chrysler on it so it just had to follow me home.
