Pastor of Muppets
It's that time of year. For some strange reason, I've been more festive than I have in years about the day on which we celebrate Christ's birth. I don't know why.
When this day arrived, though, it was bittersweet as it has been since my Dad passed away. December 24th was always a hoot with Dad... absolute last-minute shopping for Mom, involving one or both of my sisters. We're talking about Dad calling Art Frankini saying, "No, you don't understand--you HAVE to open the jewelry store!!" and similar nonsense.
Fun stuff, and dearly missed. If this day means nothing else to you, know that it's a celebration of family more than anything else. Cherish what you've got, and that which you've had and lost.
It's strange to smile with tears running down your cheeks, but that's where I am this night.
And yet, though Santa shall not visit me, I will awake tomorrow with the strange joy that can only be Christmas morning. Nothing to anticipate as in years past and yet every bit as amazing to me as when I was a child--for the reason we celebrate means so much more to me now than presents.
I wish each and every one of you that reads this a merry Christmas and a blessed 2010. This website means a lot to me. Whether you love or hate me or are indifferent, may God bless you during this Christmas season. To those whom have lost a loved one in the recent past, know that I say a special prayer for you this night... because I've felt your pain and still do.
Rambling and sort of depressing, I know... but it wasn't meant to be.
I love this crew! Merry Christmas to all of you!
