I have a 69 charger 383hp 4 speed car that i am planning to sell. Its a project car that needs a real restoration. I have some local people intrested but am having a hard time deciding what a fair price is for it. If anybody has any ideas let me know. thanks joe

The way that I rationalize what I'm spending on my project is to look at what the market is commanding for cars that are restored to the level that I hope to get to, then look at what I've got into it already..

You could take a similar approach. Get a rough idea of what it would take to restore. How bad is the body? Will it need a whole new interior? How are the mechanicals? etc etc etc...
Then start subtracting the costs from a reasonable number for a restored car.

That's how a buyer will be looking at it.
"What's it going to take to get this where I want it? Then, what'll it be worth to me once I get it there?"

*takes advise*

1970 Satellite 4 door sedan
Value :$0
Cost to restire (whatever that is, but DCF said it so it must mean something) too much...
Having a 36 year old tank to tear up the neighborhood: priceless.

Anywhere from $1000 (Incomplete parts car) to $40,000+ (Restored Trailer Pig).
Average complete "restorable" Chargers of that era are few and far between, with a 4 gear, harder yet to locate.

I'll get out on a rotting limb, now. :helpme:

Figuring it's a complete 4 gear car needing they typical trunk repairs, quarter work (or replaced) and a non-runner, around $2,500 to 7,000, but that's with most every hard to find knick knack there, in usable shape and it better have good fenders and grille. A console and shifter (if CONSOLE 4 speed) would also be a definite plus.

Bumper jack still there?

Mark.

I'd agree with that price range. It seems to be the going rate as long as you're not on eBay.

Uhhh..................huh? :wtf:

A little off topic are we? :D

Thanks for the advice men. I allways figured id keep the car but i guess hobbies change over the years! Sounds like a good ballpark range. It has the classic trunk floor rust out but the rest is not bad. quarter panels are good and grill is ok. One fender needs some work. It is a rough car but has potential. Its the original engine and 4 speed and it still has the center counsel. Years ago i replaced all the ball joints, tierod ends and strutt rod bushings. Again, thanks for the advice. Looking at all the great Mopars here in Reno at the Hot August nights will make you happy or cry! Joe
