Charger 500 Magazine Article

While I'm in this straight jacket, I can't be
The July, 2008 issue of Muscle Car Power Magazine has an article about 1969 Charger 500's, featuring the 500 my brother and I used to own. I had a bitch of a time finding the magazine (Barnes and Nobles), but I had to buy it.

What's to say? My brother and I bought it in 1980 or 81, Hemi, 4 speed, track pack. Almost no options, manual drum brakes, no console, no buddy seat, did have headrests and AM radio. We bought it from the original owner. 'Charger Green' with green interior. Sold it in Jan 83 to a guy in town for Barrett Jackson. Same guy bought my Hemi SuperBird and my brother's Hemi Challenger R/T. When I had the car, it had slotted mags and headers, no '500' stripes, and was missing the A pillar mouldings. We purchased the stripe, the mouldings and stock manifolds, but never installed them.

What do you have now? You have the yellow 'bird in your avatar don't you?
Wife has a 01 Town and Country Limited minivan, oldest son has a 95 lebaron convertible. I drive a 02 ford taurus. Haven't owned anything interesting since we sold the 3 hemi cars in Jan 83. I'll take that back, my brother did buy a 65 Sunbeam Tiger with some of his share of the money. He sold that in 1985.

Hang on and I'll help you with that 'kick me' sign.
Bummer. Hope you can get back into something. :)
