The folks at the Fashion Bazaar, of Miami, Fla., considered the ’69 Dodge Charger a “fashion statement.” The car’s svelte looks and outstanding performance sold them on buying one. On Sept. 13, 1968, they visited Trail Dodge Inc. to purchase a red Charger R/T with a black vinyl interior.
Bob Steele, of Wild Rose, Wis., owns the car today. The veteran body man restores Mopar muscle cars in a shop near his home. Steele knows that Chargers are popular with collectors today. Good looks, great performance and lots of starring roles on TV and in movies have added a lot to their cache.

What a lame article. It just... stops.

If the cruise is original, that's pretty unusual. I like the color combination, though I'm not a huge fan of bright red. Corbin clamps on the hoses, offset by M/T valve covers and a dime-store air cleaner and plenty of black rattle-can work. Wrong wheels, too. Hell of a "restoration"... and not much of an ad, either, since there's nothing to indicate his interest in this car is more than having beautified it for possible profit. Oh, and the Six Pack engine was not an option on this car. 440-4v or Hemi only, thanks.

The '69 is the only one of this generation I don't like. I can't get past that divider in the grille. The other years look so much better without it.

Anything recently painted in "resale red" always gets me suspicious. :hmmm:

Opinions differ. I like the '68 but, meh. I think the '70 grille is just hideous! It looks like a whale shark with its mouth wide open, that has somehow found chrome lipstick. :dgt:
