Some guys lust after fabulous Classic prewar automobiles. Other guys dream about ’50s fins, “Split Windows,” brass beauties or Hemi muscle.

Don’t ask him why, but Harold Stuber found himself wishing for a plain Jane 1962 Nova — a station wagon no less!

Dream cars come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and Stuber’s dream catcher is a wonderfully simple and humble four-door wagon. The car will never be named prom queen at any car shows, and it will lose out every time in a popularity contest to all the flashy coupes and convertibles of all vintages that litter the hobby.

Stuber doesn’t care. He knew the car he wanted from the first time he saw it, and he’s restored the Nova hauler to near-pristine condition and made it as nice as he can. Not only that, but he has the satisfaction of knowing that he helped save a car that probably deserved to be rescued after serving as a hard-working family transporter early in its life.

Every wagon is unique in its' own way, but most are just plain "blah".
There are a few that have captured "the look", like the early Nomads;

Other wagons, in my opinion, are just plain ugly;

The ONLY thing I like about this is the nose. :dgt:

I still like the fuselage C-body wagons. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I do. I don't like the B-wagons until '71, but even then they never got the front ends quite right.

I was doing some searching on-line and ran across this. I kinda like the way they completed the conversion. Everyone knows what the front looks like, but I think the ass-end was done quite well.

Well, it looks better than any Mustang coupe ever did, but the fit/finish work on the hatch is just off-the-hook horrifying.

ive seen ALOT of mudstain wagons...and thats one of the few ive seen that the rear was finished out correcly..most seemed choppy...lose the 3rd brake light tho

this is USEUALY what you see..while i like the way everything overhangs its the side windows on the blue one that actualy made it better

Now that I look at the blue one a bit better, it seems they used a windshield frame and cowl chunk from another car. Easy way to do it I'm sure but, the lines don't match up that well. Still looks way better than that red one though.

I like the side windows on the blue one, too, but the red one seems to be a far-better execution of the concept. Of course, the '64-'66 Mustangs are some of the ugliest of the breed in the first place; I don't think Ford hit their stride with the car until 1967.

yeah the red one seems to get it mostly right but needs the side pillar and glass from the blue one lol....ive yet to see any one of these mustangs done completly "right"
