See the unveiling of the 1957 Belvedere as it happens!
Watch "The Buried Car & What's Inside" live Friday, June 15th at 7PM on The News On 6.
This unique event will also be broadcast live on KOTV.com!

That'd be 8PM Eastern.....

Would be pretty sweet if they had some of the surviving members of the team that buried that car there. Bet they got some cool stories to go with the unveiling! :) Like why they chose that car and the items they put in it.... etc... ;)

Oooh. It's not looking too good...

I wonder if all the rust proofing was enough to protect it.
Of course if there were a complete lack of oxygen, it may be okay too. Cars have surviced rather well at the bottom of lakes and rivers and such. It's the oxygen that kills them.

Let's put this Plymouth in the Ronco Rust-O-Matic. You just "set it, and forget it" for 50 years. When the timer dings, you have enough Iron Oxide to feed a family of 6 for the next 50 years!

I'm pretty optimistic aboit this, looking at the photo's, it appears that the roof paint is still all there which is a good sign, I'm not expecting the car to be perfect, but I definitely don't think it's completely toast either. I'd say quite restorable. I hope I'm not wrong on this.

God that looks gross in that septic tank.

That looks like chunks-o-rust on the trunk. :bwuhaha:

I predict that it will look like every other '57 Plymouth that has been left out in a widwest feild under a row of trees to rot for 40 years. [smilie=f:

sooooo much for anything that was tossed in the trunk unless it was in water tight containers LOL

problem with "incased" moisture rust is that it eats from the bottom up..meaning that the roof is probably rotted above the headliner

Read this somewhere else but seems too funny not to mention here...

"Wonder how long before it's on ebay?!" :D
