Cad Plating...who? where? what?

I've heard that it's getting harder to find people to do the correct cad plating we need (that rainbow effect).

I have a couple of questions about it.

I hear there are several kinds of cad plating... how do we know which one we need on our cars?

I asked about the hood latch...turns out it has to be cad plated...which one? is it the rainbow one or the other one? I even heard there is a dark version of it...is this true?

h e l p! I have limited funds to spend on this stuff and I don't want to F it up.

....is a three stage replication that was used primarily on master cylinder covers.

It may not be the exact thing the factory did but if done right, few will know the diff. [smilie=c:
