The paint fumes have cleared so I'm
Non-Nascar fans - look away.
Canadian driver DJ Kennington is currently qualified 10th on the very tricky Gilles Villenueve road course circuit for todays Nascar Busch race, His time of 106.52 @ 91.59 is really, really fast for a non-regular series competitor.
Kennington is a regular in the Nascar Canadian Tire Series (formerly known as Cascar).
The NCTS (^)race qualifying times were VERY close to what the Big Buck Busch cars are turning - pole time for JR Fitxpatrick was 106.75 @ 91.38 mph. Pretty friggin' good for much cheaper and much more underfunded cars.
The NCTS cars all run power and drive trains with real factory parts #s - Dodges run 340 or 360 blocks and heads, Chevies run real smallblocks, Fords run Windsor stuff, etc.
Stock car racing is alive and well in Canada.:giggedy:
The race is on TSN today at 3 PM.
