On 2nd thought, might yours be a '70? I can't tell for sure, but the body lines in the 1/4 panel look different. Also, the side marker light up front is obviously different. I don't know whether it would affect the marker light, but mine is a newport royal. Contrary to what that sounds like, the royal was a new-for-'71 stripped down newport. It came standard for the then-new 360 2 bbl, which mine has. Mine is stock down to the points distributor and 2 bbl carburetor. Surprisingly, it put down 163 hp at the wheels on our local stingy dyno. That's surprising because it was rated at 175 net hp. No, net hp was not at the wheels. The other part surprised the honda owner watching the dyno run-255 ft/lbs. Torque-wise, it pimp slapped his nitroused honda. But anyway, I digress...put the car back on the road if possible. Fuselage c bodies aren't getting any more common, and they're well built and designed cars.
Too bad you're in canada-I could probably scare up some very affordable body parts for the car. I can get a helluva deal on shipping, so it might actually be worth it. I wonder, would the doors/bumper/etc off a '72 new yorker work? I know where one about that color is-in the yard here in Atlanta. I pulled the 440 out of it this last Sunday. The doors on the '72 newport I got the 400 thick main motor from are good, but it's a 2 door. I also got the passenger side front fender off that one. Would it fit? Believe it or not, it's also roughly that color brown! I can take pictures of the fender when I get home this weekend if it might help you out.
