Biofuel and the tree huggers.

AS many of you know, I've been doing lots of research into the whole SVO/biodiesel thing to try and stop using gasoline. My motives are ecomomic, patriotic and waaaaaaaaay in the back, enviromental.

And now I am realizing why biofuels and other alternative means of power have not taken off... Tree huggers are the most annoying bunch of bozos I have ever come across. Just talking to them makes me want to club a baby seal and feed it to those vegetarian assholes while it's heart spurts blood into their little vegetarian mouths...

If our hopes of an easy to use alternative fuel lie in those little effeminate hands, we're going to be sucking on Saudi Arabian oil for a long long time.

I sent one of these idiots an e-mail stating that most "normal" people, the ones that don't have the time or money to do anything but work and take care of their homes and families have very little time for recreation, so that taking even more of that time away by adding the collection of waste oil to the mix (figure once a week or more taking three or four hours to go to the place, get the filled tanks, drop off empties, and then drag the full ones home, empty those, wash the containers etc).

I asked the guy...what about buying already cleaned oil from a recycling center that sells it in bulk for making animal feed, soap and other stuff? It would take out an huge step by having say 3 to 500 gallons delivered via truck into a large holding tank at the house once a month. That stuff can't cost more than a buck a gallon...maybe less... But try and find info about it on the net....like looking for Jimmy Hoffa..

His answer? "Everybody's busy."

What a dick.

If this stuff is going to work it needs to be EASY TO DO FOR EVERYONE...how hard is it to fill up on gas? 5 minutes, get a Coke, and on my way. If I could fill up at home, that would be even easier....

I could go on, but you're already bored...i can see your drool is increasing.

True enough. Did you watch that thing on Speed TV about the bio-fuel? Really much lower percentage than I thought of actual "bio" materials. And it is more expesive to make at this point. Interesting.

No, but i saw the TRucks! episode on Spike.

Problem is, that Fuelmiester setup seems so crazy overpriced... 3K for the small one and 4K for the big one, then you add the cost of chemicals, the time factor, and Stacy didn't give the whole story. The fuel HAS to be washed after production, then it's ready.

All the Greenpeacniks hate Fuelmiester and say that it's overpriced, creates low-quality fuel, blah blah blah...I feel like getting one just because they say not to.

The more I think about it, the more our friends in England and Germany and Spain are doing it right... SVO.

I was reading an article that the practice is very popular in GErmany and that it is by no coincidence that VWs and Mercs have the best diesels for SVO.

So until I see a diesel hybrid, I'm going with either a Ram...the cool contractor special that can power up to 4 houses with it's internal electric generator (so freaking cool, a VW diesel bug for the little lady, and a used (2003ish) Mercedes E-Class for me the diesel versions are still relative bargains costing under 40K and with a life of 250 to 500K miles.

Of course all of this remains a pipe dream until I get hired. Oh...the party I am going to have....
