CUDA laid down a 12.387 on a 1/4 mile run. that beat it best 12.441 recorded earlier that day. the cooler weather sure makes a different.

firefighter made it to the track today. always great to see ron.

got to see an almost all original 70 440/6 orange cuda. original paint too. he made several passes. 1 he ran againt me. i ran a 7.87 to his 8.41 on the 1/8th.

i was racing in the old timer division today & broke out in the 1st round.

lots of time trials today & got in a total of 10 runs, 3 of them were 1/4 mile. a great day

That is a GREAT time! How much weight do you have to loose? The car...;) Is the effort going to try and get it into the 11's? :)

every 100 lbs lost drops your et by about 1/10th sec. i've taken out a few things but she weighs now about 3,850 lbs.
i think i can find about 300-400 lbs by the time i install skinny drag lite wheels up front, install a single race seat. take out the inner door braces, loose the wiper motor & linkage, door & rear speakers, bass tube out of trunk, inner fenders, defroster, carpet, fiberglass bumpers & trunk lid.

and probably a few other things

Just send Ole Rusty the scrap metal! [smilie=e:

Good running, you guys are gettin on top a the game! [smilie=e: Rich.

Good stuff Greg....the car keeps going faster and faster. It's time for a bar, you'll be crossing that threshold shortly....

Thanks for the parts, they will find a good home. I've got your TM7 whenever you decide you want it. This winter, you need to mill the heads for more compression, throw a big solid (MP590) in it and upgrade the induction system (TM7/holley 850dp) and she'll really fly....especially if you can lighten her up a few hundred pounds. It's a racecar now, woo hoo !! [smilie=e:

cage threashold WOOT...on the down side...ya gotta over lighten to compensate for the weight of the cage

Nope, that's a 4500 Team G manifold. The tm7 is a 4150 flange intake with slightly smaller runners/plenum and better suited to what you'll be doing with the cuda. Powerband of the tm7 is 3500-7000. With an 850 cfm double pumper it will be a perfect induction package with the 3500 stall and 4.10's. The top end charge will be a big improvement over the Performer rpm, inmo.....Cuda will pull hard to 6200-6300 with a big solid cam.... [smilie=e:

Rob, really stupid queston, but isn't that one backwards?? Shouldn't the mounting holes be at the back drivers side?? I assumed they were for throttle linkage?

Yes, coil -- it's the only way to tell front from back on those old single-planes. I've got a Weiand Excellarator here I wish would fit under my airgrabber hood. :)

XL, with some weight reduction and engine tweaks, i expect this car would go mid 11's with some tuning.....The big question is whether Greg's ole ticker can handle those kind of speeds....rotfl. [smilie=2: [smilie=e:

Good times, but you can lighten it a bunch by just unbolting un-necessary items. I got my 73 Roadrunner down to 3560# race ready, with me in it. Heater alone is 35#, and those stock buckets, 75# a piece. Jute padding under the carpet, Mine weighed in at 86#, I replaced it with light weight water proof / fireproof foam pad that they use in RV's. Also I remove the insulation from above the headliner, which is also jute, and replaced it with that heat reflecting bubble wrap type insulation from home depot. I tried it without, and almost got heatstroke in the staging lanes.
