Went back to stock looking, what ya think? I have a dual snorkel air cleaner coming with the 383 Super Commando on it. I changed the yellow wires back to black too.
I just took everything off the intake and a little painters tape and shot the intake. I painted the Vcovers off the engine. I painted the waterpump by spraying the paint in a lid then brushing it on, put a couple of coats on that way.
The intake and waterpump were clear powder coated. I hated to do it but I wanted it back to factory. I now have a set of the tall Mopar valve covers that are powder coated clear. :hmmm:
I have the stock fan, did they have clutch fans back then?:hmmm: This one doesn't and it seems like there not much space between the waterpump and shroud for one. I'll have to look in my parts cd's and see.
See? I'm not the only resto-nut around here! I am also of the opinion that mopar had some of the nicest looking stock engine compartments of all time. It's not often that you see someone modify a mopar engine bay and make it look better. Great job! Get that dual snorkel on there ASAP!
By the way...couldn't help notice the "air conditioner colored" engine paint. I know in 69 if your 383 was aqua, it meant you had a/c. I don't know about your year though...
from a pure visual inpact I like the b4 but the after is closer to stock and is well done.. I would put the valve covers back on 'till you want to show it or sell it, but thats just my 2c
ABODYJOE good to see you drop in.
