Ok folks first off its been a while and I sure missed the antics of the mopar folks. I now have a new mopar project and I am ready to share whats been happening and what the plan is. Some of you may recall my attempt to turn an Acclaim into a big block powered pickup truck. Some un noticed body rot put an end to that project but it was sure fun while it lasted and I managed to get a few cool pictures allong the way.

Anyway the new project is well a little bit stranger than that one... Stranger you say? Yes the force will need to be strong with this one.
I never liked doing things the hard way and the it won't work just eggs me on.
I have started to accumulate bitsd and pieces to turn my Lebaron Convertable into a rear engine jet drive amphicar.

The loose plan is the fabricate new frame rails and engine craddle weld the splindles straight and move the engine to the trunk. Obvoiusly allot of work just to get this to work.
The second part is to setup hydraullic shocks lift the rear and front wheels up to reduce drag in the water.
The third part is to seal the underpan and rework the front to make it slightly resemble a boat.
The fourth is to Figure out a way to drive the jet drive system. Anyway, lots of stuff to be done here.

No this doesn't yet belong in the Hemiroids section.

Hope everyone has been doing well, I hope to start adding pictures once the dismantle job starts.

Bizarre yes.
Running the the numbers and I think I will need about 2.8 cubic meters of foam, to keep it a float. 25 percent in the front, 50 percent in the back and the remaining above the waterline.
I guess thats why so many of the amphicars just sank. :)

Oh well logic never stopped me before.

Here is a picture of the acclaim to jog your memories.
