Also spotted there was this Challenger 'vert that I've never seen locally before. After chatting with the kid that drove it in I got the story.

I knew his parents when they were 18 - 19 yrs old and were just starting to date. His dad was a true-blue Mopar man way back then, but after they got married I never saw them. About 7 - 8 yrs ago I read in the paper of the dad being killed in an on-the-job accident. The kid said that a couple yrs ago he got his dads Chally out of storage and restored it "in memory of dad" The front fenders had some dents but he found some perfect replacements. The rest is original sheetmetal and interior. He still needs to get a new top boot and a few small details.

Power is a single 4bbl 340 with pistol-grip and a very rare shaker on the single four.

The pictures do not do justice to this black beauty.

I know his dad would be proud.

That's a very nice car and a really neat story to go with it.

I don't have picture hosting but I could e-mail it.:toot:

I don't have your addy.

Labor of love. :)
Saw this this past weekend and thought of your passion for the "when-men-were-men" cars. There was a dual hammy digger too, I only saw it on the track and couldn't find it in the pits. Geez were these things evil handling, front wheels flopping back and forth on launch, resting your sack on a potential hand-grenade. :)
