att. 69.5 440 cuda

$105,000 for THAT? It's nice and all but he must think that since it's a Barracuda that he can ask E-body pricing. He's insane.

I may be an E-body owner but I don't believe my car is something elite and above others :P It's just a car. As for the asking price, I would start it at what I had into it and let people bid from there. That's reasonable compared to "I saw this car go for this much so I should start mine above that because I actually have a lot less into my car". I hate greedy idiots.

All the factory emblems say it's a Barracuda. It's a Barracuda in my eyes. The decals on the front fenders won't get me calling it a 'cuda. The VIN decode mentions nothing about a 'cuda either.

John Arruzza has a '69 M code notchback Cuda that he bought from Tom Hoover who purchased the car about 35 years from Sox &Martin. The 440 was out and Tom built the small block that I purchased from John for my Dart to reside between the fenderwells. John has totally restored his 'Cuda, even though he found the #'s matching block....he's going with a rare ball stud Hemi prototype that he purchased from Dick Landy. I'm supposed to visit him, and I'll try and get pics. I have plenty before the restoration.Cool car!

if what you are saying is true than ALL ebody barracudas are just barracudas with a posible add on 'cuda emblem inturn not makeing them special in any way shape or form sounds like a ford owner calling a cuda or chally a camaro/firebird or a chevy ownder calling a cuda or dart a mustang

the barracudas first packages was formula S wich died early in 69 and changed to 'CUDA in 69 1/2 and was carried untill its death in 74...E or A there was both cuda and barracuda

Seems to me that "cuda" was a slang term used by enthusiasts in the late 60's to describe any Plymouth Barracuda. (Which were all of the A-body variety at the time...) Chrysler just adopted the popular term and applied it to a specific performance version of the E-body in an attempt to distinguish it from the 6 cylinder or 318 Barracuda that your grandmother might buy.

So yeah - there were 'cudas before 1970.

Saw Don Johnson selling that yellow vert he drove in the Nash Bridges series a few yrs ago at Barret Jackson. Now this is a hemi fake with a stout 440 and he got something like 300.000 for it just because. Cheech Marin was there too, wonder what his cut was????

I'm glad I don't do e bodies anymore. Seems so stereotypical, but the seem to all think the "e" is for "elitist":dgt: If you'll go to the link below, you'll see that the Cuda option was a real deal in 1969.."1969 saw the first appearance of the 'Cuda designation for a performance Barracuda packege. I believe it was available only with the 340, 383 and 440 engine options"......

I sure made a TON of money on ebay with those e-bodies:D
