Artsy fartsy

Oh cool, thanks for the link. :) 2400$ is really a pretty good price for something like this when you think of the time involved, almost within my range. I'd love to have one. :)

You know, I don't really care for any "art" (fancy paintings, sculptures, etc.) but this is one thing I would buy and invest that kind of money in if I had it.

It just has to be something _you_ think is cool that someone took the time to make. I don't have anything real art but my house needs some.
Take grandmas old spoons you didn't know what to do with and he'll turn 'em into something this cool? If I had a bit more leverage I would pay 2400$ for one, it would be a good conversation piece. Just think of all the ppl that touched and used some of those things. Like an old quarter. :)

I like art, but I kind of have a sense of humor about it..because what maybe some kick ass thing to one person, could be a horrible piece of shit to another (like modern art paintings with a bunch of paint thrown at it by a chimp....WTF???!!)

It's the same when I do my photography. I don't do it for everyone else (though my assigned job in Japan, I will) but I look for things I like. And to me, thats real art. If you can have some kind of connection, respect, or admoration for the artist or the piece of art, its art worthy.

Thats why I think art is such an abstract thing that shouldn't be fought over or judged so harshly...but hey, thats just me and my 2 yen
