Article: Is Dodge smart for dusting off the Dart name? [w/poll]

If it were some sort of mid-level performance car I'd dig it but if they are going to make a "car" with no real personality or power I think it's a mistake.
 
The shots of it that I've seen have the ass of a 2012 Charger and the nose of a VW Corrado or whatever model that was. Have not seen the mid chunk of the car yet. It certainly looks interesting, I'll give it that much so far. Wonder what's gonna power it though. They better keep it RWD too!
 
considering how bastardized names have gotten...i mean hell a charger was NEVER a 4dr...i could make a mile long list of aborted names...no i think bringing the dart name back..from what ive seen..makes sense
 
I think its ok to bring it back ... the name is a name ... trying to make sales and the charger/challenger and HEMI has done alot for the company. And none of those three big names acturally capture their heritage to well. Challenger i would give the closest to its heritage. Hemi is just a nameplate slapped on to the engine to attract buyers.

the first dart was a daily commuter ... with 4 doors ... slant 6's and made for grandma. Basically an economy car from that era.

Doubt we see performance out of the car as its looks to be geared towards the FART car segment. Being based of the fiat platform ...
 
dont diss the fiat platform so quickly..us mericans dont understand what can be done with light and tiny.....fiat has been making light and little ANIMALS for decades..and with alfa onboard....well...theres alot of fun stashed in there...now dont get me wrong the base models are always cheep and slow..you gotta slpurge for the goods!!!!
 
not dissing the fiat platform because i think they will bring alot of technology over to use in north american. kind of interested in what they bring also would be neat to have a small diesel in them small cars
 
seems VW is the only one really allowd to bring us the good diesels....blame the gubberment

i would KILL for the mopar turbo diesel minivan in europe..did i mention it comes as a 6spd MANUAL!!!!!....theres a few versions but if you look up lancia you will find it..yup a lancia voyager!!!!..and its got a good lookin face on it too
