Are all of the East coasters battened down?

It appears as though Sandy is building up into shitstorm. (pun intended.)

They're saying we'll get a direct hit with the remnants here in Southern Ontario.

I've watched a little about this, and they're talking about "The Perfect Storm" with pressure and temp fronts coming together, but this time it's going to be over land mass. There are a lot evacuations happening, including some on Manhattan Island. Meteorologists have been saying for years that NYC was overdue for a big one... let's hope they're wrong this time. If you're East Coast and they tell you to evacuate, please listen to them!

All we're expecting here is possibly some residual snowfall, but the way the weather seems to avoid this area I'm not too worried. A lot of the people in Upper Michigan refer to Dickinson County as "The Banana Belt", since for some reason it seems storms will actually split and go around us. They'll get a foot of snow 50 miles in any direction and we'll get maybe 2". :wtf: It's been like that as long as anyone can remember.

its shaping up to be perfect thats for sure..from what little i poke my head into that shit...all the east coast micro guys are in a panic to find high ground to stuff theyre babys into other ppls garages.....and alot of banter about most of the northeren east coast not having any infastructure to even evac for this kind of thing

the earthquake over here was to tell yall to shut up and stay on your own damned coast or we will eat you!

We get the same here in Sarnia, though it may be even more pronounced - it's not uncommon to have snow a few miles outside the city limits and get absolutely nothing here. Last winter heavy snow shut down the 402 highwway literally on the edge of the city...it was sunny downtown.
