Anyone ever see...

Yeah I've heard of them, but off the top of my head I can't remember what it means. Something about 3 different cars in one, normal, sun roof, fold down rear seat maybe?

That's it!

I have some ads but the pictures (too big to post I'm working on 'em.) don't really do anything to indicate what the three cars are...

One is obviously the sun-roof and they call that the convertible.
They call it a family wagoon, although I don't really see it - I guess that's the fold down seat part.
The third? Just a car. maybe....

At first I thought it was a hatch back - but it's not...

So, I guess this is just an option package and marketing rather than an actual model or trim kit or the like....

Yeah, the "convertriple" was the combination of both the sunroof and the fold-down seat. I looked at one when I was in high school; it was a '75 or '76 with a 360-4v and a 4-speed, though I'm pretty sure both were transplanted into it. Sure was fast, though.

The Hang 10 guys all want the 360-4v convertriple as it's the rarest Hang 10 version.

I know it's supposed to be a clever marketing term, but it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it?

'twas your request for Space Duster pics that got me looking through my old pics and I came across the ads for the Darts....

yep,it was a 3 car's in 1 deal,,introduced in '73, dart sport was the base, add a steel full width sun/moon roof, fully locking, one hand operation, rear seat fold down for 6.5 feet space, with security panel, for station wagon type room, and the main advertising jingle, was that it was a compact car that could carry 5 adults, comfortably,,and still be a family wagon or be able to haul snow ski's or surf boards,,,
