I need some downpipes for my 68 coronet 318. all the shops around here want 100 bucks to do just the downpipes! (manifold to just after where it turns down so i can weld on exhaust)

Call me a cheapa$$ if you want, but 100 bucks for 4 feet of pipe and 3 bends is nuts.

can anyone help me? [smilie=b:

If you can weld, why not use the original Y-pipe flanges to make your own?

I'm your huckleberry....have bender, you come get pipe. [smilie=w:

I will get ya a price, how far back do you need?

well, Im in kansas..thats the problem, if i was close to you id have you do the whole exhaust.

I can cut the 2 peices I need off my car and mail em to you, if youd be willing to do that for me. All I need is the flange, down to the bend, then about a foot past the bend. so I can weld on the rest of my exhaust. just standard 2.25" pipe, so nothing expensive.

the problem is my down pipe on the pass side has a huge crack in it, and its rusty as all heck, so im afraid if i weld it i'll just blow a hole in it.
Let me know beeper!

Was your system a factory part or custom made?
My bend card lists the 318 and the 383 as the same for duals but the left side says expand to 2 1/2" OD at flange with 2 1/4"O/D on the right flange.
Perhaps you can measure your pipes at the flange?
To make what you describe means I have to bend the pipe in reverse, which basically means I will need to be sober to accomplish successfully.

FYI the complete pipes from manifold to muffler would set ya back $80 for me to bend so what you need should be much less. [smilie=w:

Shipping should be inexpensive I would think. [smilie=e:

Is this the back to the 4 beers thread from last week?. [smilie=e:

Wow - $100.00? - that's a gouge.

I'm getting 8 - 10' X 2" pipes made with 4 bends per pipe at a cost of $400.00 for 'em all...
