Yes, v8440 was the source of all the joy involved in my acquiring the '74 Challenger, which is (was) the black car in his photo gallery that occasionally pops up in the banner. More importantly, Stretch and I got to spend a very enjoyable, if wet, day moving parts to and fro, seeing a little of Montgomery, and in my case, riding in The Appliance (his Geo Prison). All this was courtesy of Neil, a.k.a. v8440, who is one
hell of a good guy. Thanks for everything, Neil, but thank you the most for helping me achieve a dream I hadn't thought possible in many years. It's everything I could've hoped and a lot more. She's in good hands.
Also special thanks to board members
Stretch and
GGWild for helping me to get the car home. 'Twas a long four days, and both were real troopers about loading the car and all the parts while it was raining. Stretch was mostly "musckle" and moral support, while GGWild provided the diesel Ram 2500 and actually bought an enclosed trailer in the South so I'd only have to pay the extra fuel of pulling a trailer in one direction.
I'm literally too wiped out from the weekend to have gone to work today. I finally got done moving everything into the garage around 9:30 last night and despite 8 hours of solid sleep in my own bed, I still feel like I got run over by a Challenger rather than having bought one.
It's a great problem to have.
