Anybody know LEDs?

I'm thinking that the taillights and front signals on my wagon are a pretty easy starting point to try how my hand at fashioning LED lights since they're pretty square. Problem is I don't know where to start and can't find any good how-to's on the internet with what I need. From what I've seen on other websites (none which are thorough enough to make what I want :doubt, I'll require some resistors and a board to attach the lights to. What ohm resistance do I need? Does every LED need one? Any help into this little project would be appreciated.

I can't seem to find it right now, but a few months ago, Ehrenberg made some for the Valiant in Mopar Action. If you can't find it, get on their site and send him and e-mail, he's fairly accessible, and has a ton of electronics knowledge.

Just finished researching LEDs 'til my head hurt at a recent trade show. Pretty powerful technology - but there is a price tag attached to it if you want it to actually be an improvement over your lite bulbs.

I would think Resistor values would be dependant on how many LEDs in the circuit, assuming you series wire them.
