The paint fumes have cleared so I'm
54 Corvette, all shined up.
House of Kolor, Brandywine Kandy

The car looks great, except for the stinger hood scoop the owner had us put on.
Not exactly original anymore - 283, T 10 four speed, 4:10 posi, front disc brakes, leather covered Mazda seats, etc...
We had to undo, then redo, just about everything on this car.

wow nice color.....that scoop looks like ASS on there

you mind if i ask the owner who shit on his hood?

Thanks, I think it looks pretty good too.
The new painter knows his stuff.

...the stinger hood scoop... 283, T 10 four speed, 4:10 posi, front disc brakes, leather covered Mazda seats, etc...
...and so it would come to pass that "improving" the car would make its final value about 1/50th of what it would be restored.

What that feller did is akin to putting a 620-inch stroker Wedge, a cowl hood, '82 Mustang GT Recaro seats, a '74 Imperial rear-disc axle and a cowl-induction hood on a '71 HemiCuda convertible. Sure, performance may be better, but you just turned a potentially-7-figure piece of automotive history into a kitbashed nightmare. Corvette guys, purist or not, will cry when they see it.

I agree with the majority thus car: the hood scoop looks like absolute shit. It totally clashes with the lines of the car.

But the paint sure is nice.

You're absolutely right Doc, but fully restored, who would want to drive it?
This particular fellow isn't worried about the dollar value - he has more money than Bics has pickles. I wouldn't be surprised to find he did it just to piss off some purists. :)
I guess when he bought the car it was pretty much totalled, and missing just about everything specific to a 53 - 54 Corvette.
The hood looked so nice before that scoop - his original idea was to gain some underhood clearance, but iafter b body victim lowered the motor, it wasn't needed. We couldn't talk him out of the stinger, and since he signed the cheques.... He got what he wanted.

That colour is freakin' gorgeous in the sunlight.:bravo:

It is a nice color, but if he was gonna do something like that, why didn't he go with full Z07 underpinnings? That would've totally SICK.

283/T10 what a waste of a beautiful car

Uh, well, I don't know.
Maybe if it was my name on the ownership tag, I could answer that, but since it belongs to someone else, and he pays the bills, we do what he pays for.
We're like whores in that regard - "$50,000, I paint you long time" :)

Oh you talk good game sailor boy, me take liking to yous....*whips out shaving cream and razor* ....

Ooooooohhhhh, I'll bring the grapes and fig leaves.

*wonders "where did I leave the rubber tubing and flippers?"*

I concur about the hood scoop...but as you said...he's pay you to do it so Oh well....

If he truly wants to piss off the corvette purists then he should have the power train from a new ford mustang.....:shifty:

I think the bugcatcher is neat and practical:p catch 'em before they get in your teeth.

at least it's not stick-on ram-air scoops.[smilie=f:

BTW: pretty, shiny stuff, yum:bravo:
