Was wondering if anyone saw it, or has interest to see it? I was always kinda interested in it, maybe cause it hit close to home. Was before my time but still heard about it a lot as a kid. Lived only 5 mins away so it grabbed my attention. My dad said it was all over the news for 2 weeks till son of sam took over.
I heard the new movie was supposed to be good and kept ya on your toes. So anyone see it? lol.

The real horror isn't in the house on the south side of town, it is the town itself on the north side.
From the been there done that LIVED THERE for 10 years deal. I know what I'm talkin about.

seen it and rate it 3/10. if you seen the excellent original, then this will disappoint. Horror films cannot be made today.
nobody can write/direct this type of film anymore. [smilie=e:

Hollywood has gone to sh*t. Well OK - they were always there, but man - what's with all the lame-ass remakes?

No creativity there anymore - just crankin' out product it seems....

absolutly!
all that can be done now is dumb computer effects. that's suppose to make-up for the lack of creativity/originality. [smilie=e:

Uh - huh ... music industry is much the same. Every studio has the "Pro-tools" program that can make virtually anyone sound good. So now it's even more important to have the "look" as opposed to ability.

Who's this week's pop/dance bimbo? and most of these young metal/punk bands can't tie their own shoes - much less play their instruments...

It all gets "fixed in the mix."

technology certainly has made the business accommodating for anyone, right-o there nad.
I like watching interviews with these 19 yr old kid groups as they explain their artistic views and craft in music. [smilie=e: these kids are just products from the industry that realizes that today, image and goofy musical gimmicks sells. rap artists(uggh) are the most arrogant! these guys are hilarious! you must want to let go of a light or something once and awhile on some in this business. Maybe it will be this story instead of a remake..

Actually, while searching up who was to star in it (Johnny Depp), I found an article that says they are going to make a movie based more on the book, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, rather than a remake of the 1971 original.

I suppose that's good if you're a fan of the book, and bad if you're a fan of the movie...

OK, I'm allmost 30 days late in reply, but I could not think of a way to dance around the reasons of leaving a trailer park the resided on the poor side of town where gun play at night was a nightly sport and robberies where a bi-weekly event.
It really wasn't the crack hoes that were a problem, it was the teenage drug dealers displaying there guns and local thugs trying to find money in other peoples pockets, (By will or by force) that were the minor problems.
The big problem was the next door witch and her pupett boy freind whom was so whipped that he would just dance to the whistle played by his master and comander boss. "The Bitch!"
I did have the last laff and minor revenge before I made them irate and leave, but, in all, it was the total whole of events that had me give up on the shit hole I had my kid in.
I took my kid out of the element at age 9 to a better place to raise her in.
Lucky for me the promotion paid double and then some of the old rate.
Otherwise, ebonics could have become a second lang, to learn instead of spanish.
Now she can learn in chem. class to make better meds insteaed of better glass pipe drugs.

Don't get me wrong, theres lots of good people there, just to many jerks that think carring a gun and fist fighting is an OK way of life.

If anyone is an original in Hollywood right now it would be Johnny Depp......look at his body of work. [smilie=e:

Rumblefish....

I grew up in a place almost identical to that. I am forever grateful that my parents raised us kids to look beyond our immediate enviroment and see life for what it could be - not what was happening around us at the time.

Eventually we all pulled ourselves out of that place. I still carry some scars from it I guess, but mentally we never really lived there.

I understand your post very well.

i hear a couple of the movie crew from the remake met up with untimely deaths during and after the filming of the movie, was it because of the truth behind the story portrayed on the silver screen, or that cause of the bad reviews and passe' acting LOL

can't say for sure on my part.

Not a Duster;
but mentally we never really lived there.
Same here. Also taught my daughter the same things you mention. Same lesson taught from Mom and Pop. They grew up in N.Y.C with more colors and religons than you can shake a stick at.
I did like a lot of things about the area. It just never fully made the cut. Super quick access to the Pkwy's, which ment quick drives to where ever. Lots of small shops where you can get to know the owners on a personal level and lots of real people. Just to many bad apples rolling around.

Before the promotion, I was working 10pm-6am, resting up and then twisting wrenchs for the neighbors. I endedup with a rep for tinkering on cars. It ended up spreading around that I did work cheap.
Basic work was done helping people out. I got to meet many a good people.

1966D100...ROFLMAO

Tid bit info;

The "House" is on the south side of town. Probably about 7 miles or so from where I lived. The area is reallllly nice. (More money in the pockets thing)
The house has changed alot and has gotten several up grades over time to help hide it's past.
Truly, what happened there was not the devil himself popping up, but the devil inside us all getting out of control.
A past most every res. of the town wishs to be forgoten about.
