Ok long story short. Girlfriend is out of town so I am house sitting. I took her moms laptop with wireless connection to my house litterally across the street for the week. Connection strength was "Very Low" but still worked. Anyhoo tonight I was online with 69.5 and decided to go back to my girlfriends house for a better signal. I walk out my front door and take 2 steps, motion light comes on and I look up and there is a 4 point buck looking right at me! This thing I swear was not more than 6 feet from me! [smilie=2: At first I froze thinking, "Oh shit!" then I yelled at the deer and it took off! Man if I lived in the country, had a gun and a hunting permit......damn! :D What a rush though!! LMFAO!!:bwuhaha: I'm still riding that high lol. Just glad it didn't charge me! [smilie=f: My front door was locked and keys in pocket with NO chance of opening the door and getting back inside and away from it should it have charged! What an experience though lol. Now I'm safe inside at my girlfriends house and got 69.5 sorta on hold on IM while I post this so I better get going lol. Just HAD to share this story. :D

No worries, little girl... you're about as likely to get charged by a whitetail as you are to bump uglies with Selma Blair. Actually, what happened to you is a pretty-common occurrence over here in the less-populated reaches of the state. Several years ago, the local municipalities actually hired professional hunters to come in and whack about 200 deer in town. They were literally getting to be that much of a nuisance. I can't count the number of times I almost ran over a deer pulling into my parents' place, and the folks had a short driveway.

In fact, on Thanksgiving--while we weren't razzing my sister Sarah*--we sat in my Mom's living room and watched several whitetails (a couple were decent bucks) roam around her backyard and the surrounding area. My sister's kids were fascinated; my brother and his son, both of whom are big-time hunters, both developed weird nervous facial tics (my brother hasn't gotten a deer yet). :D

:bwuhaha:That last paragraph was pretty funny!! Also keep in mind that is the closest I have been to a deer without it hanging from a rafter in my friends garage. :shifty:[smilie=i:

I was arms reach of a big old buck after I stopped on the highway, he let me pick up the camera but the velcro opening on the case sent him running. Now ask me about the freaking cat in the dumpster.[smilie=2:

When we lived in the trailer park it was a common occurence to have deer in the yard, they actually had a path on one end of the yard. We also had wild turkeys roaming through, once had one land right in front of the livingroom window that startled the cat so bad it fell off the couch. :D

My wife hates you all.... :D

When we go on road trips anywhere, her head is on a swivel looking for deer.

She's almost always disappointed, but on our last trip to Erie, PA, she saw a whole herd of them crossing a field not too far away from the highway.

I told her I arranged it for her. It was her birthday and our anniversary. :)

She'd love to be sitting on a deck or even inside looking through a big picture window and watch deer romp around....

Well, DCF, you need to bring her on up here to Wellandport sometime.....we routinely have them in the field behind our house, as well as turkeys, and several times have had them in the back yard (which is only 25 ft. deep) and last year, around dusk, there were about 5 of them romping across our front yard. Our house is right beside a large stand of bush, so deer are very, very common around here. Also last year, Mike went outside at late dusk (almost dark), and was confronted with a large buck about 20 feet from the house on the driveway!! I was in the house, but did he come and get me? Nooooo......told me about it later.

I HAD a full grown 300 pound hog walk thru my cedar trees. so i got some rope and corn and followed it . my buddy helped me . we went thru 100 acres and finally i got him home. i figured it was from the farm down the road so i phne them up. they said that it was wild. they raise pork and this sow ot out and came home to eat about every 4 days. i guess i got on a third day. :bwuhaha: . they said give it to a hog farmer. so i phoned a buddy up who owns a hog farm and he went out of bussiness that week. so i got to keep it. i used my wrecker to load it on a trailer she wouldnt move otherwise. . yook it to the butcher and got about 225 pounds of meat and 1 inch porkchops. and that winter the price of pork went up. CHEAP EATING FOLKS:doh::bwuhaha:-- yup i laughed all winter. so when thry asked me what happened to the hog - i said it went to a small family farm where they just loved having it around. i said when they got it - it just ticked them pink. they asked did they give it a name --and i said yes xmas. cause it came just before. they thot that was funny and beleived me. and yes that family was happy to see it. when we got her she was a little cold to know but soon warmed up.:bwuhaha::helpme::helpme::helpme: God has humour to-Ed

Man this year in the Fraser Canyon, the route I take to get to Prince George for my Timmy deliveries, anyway the carnage on the road from the deer getting hit has been the worst I've ever seen.....[smilie=f:
