FRANK KERR aka FRANKIE VENOM of TEENAGE HEAD: 1957 - 2008

It is with great sadness that Gord Lewis of Teenage Head announces the tragic passing earlier today of Canadian icon Frank Kerr aka Frankie Venom of natural causes.

Frank was the lead singer of punk rock pioneers Teenage Head, founded at Westdale High School in Hamilton, Ontario in 1975.
 
I don't recognize the name but I recognize the songs and voice. Natural causes at 51? Time flies.
 
Yeah, real sad. I heard this on CHCH news last night. At 51, I wonder what constitutes "natural causes"? Guess it could be any number of things..... Very sad, nonetheless....:(
I never really got into them, but it's nice to know that a local band made big fame and fortune. Geez, DCF, looks like you were a real fan!
 
The "natural causes" was actually cancer.

I think Gordie was just trying to differentiate the cause from an accident or O.D. or whatever...

Yeah, I was a pretty big fan. They were big around here when I was a teenager.
My first ever concert was a Teenage Head concert.

I've got some of their stuff on vinyl, even.
I have one of Steve's (bassist) guitar picks somewhere. He dropped it a that first concert and I picked it up. That seems kinda silly now, but then, it was pretty cool.
