I've always wanted to try a megasquirt setup. They're cheap as hell last time I checked, and there are forums with people who have run them on just about everything imaginable if you need help or advice.
I'm thinking about using MegaSquirt on the Conquest, since I really have no choice but to go EFI, and anything else is wildly expensive. If that goes well, I may end up with it on a V8 project as well.
ahh yes megasquirt...ive looked into that and "most" ppl have a very hard time with it unless they buy one from someone who has already assembled the setup...thats why i didnt mention it.....tho it is the cheeper way to go and has far more options availible to it than anything else out there
I have seen GM TBI applications adapted to small blocks also. Would probably be the cheapest way to go. However, I can't handle a GM product on my mopar.
your best bet with MS is to find someone who has either built one or several...the next is to find someone who has a "base line" for your engine
ive been eyeing and learning as much as i can about it in regards to tuneing, setup and install....for the lloyd....if you cant find someone with a baseline for the engine your going to be putting it on there your in for a world of learning and frustration
If you're not going forced induction, MS's software has a "learning" feature which will get the car running and driving, from which you can do your final tuning.
There are even discussion forums which are great for tech support. Lots of guys in there that have done it a million ways from Sunday... though I've not yet seen anyone build an EFI chainsaw (MS is capable of doing so).
