Way too much going on this month, but I'm not complaining.

The dealership has been hounding us to trade in my wife's Challenger. They offered all kinda of incentives and I worked as many of the angles as I could.

So, we traded up to the R/T.

While we were negotiating, I threw in the idea of a second sale and the sales manager came and sat down for the rest of the sale.

I got a good price for my Charger - which was kinda weird because I didn't even have it there for them to see - but it was more than I was expecting. Then, I signed the deal for this.

We got caught in a wicked storm on the way home.

On other fronts, my TTI dual exhaust will arrive via brown truck tomorrow.

AND, I'll need to add a hitch to the new truck because the 69 Charger is ready to come home.

Crazy that it's all happening at once.

And, honestly, I have a hard time with the Challenger on long drives.
If I set the seat where my legs are comfortable, I have to stretch to reach the steering wheel.
If I move the seat up so that I have a comfortable reach, my legs are cramped.
We had the kids in the back seat of the V6 Challenger last Friday and I had to move my seat up to accommodate the 4-year old's feet.
Mind you, her feet are sticking straight out toward the back of the front seat and not planted on the floor, but still...
 
If the steering column is like my Avenger, when you go to adjust the tilt, pull back on the steering wheel and it should extend towards you.

The '69 Charger is not ready yet, but will be very soon - it's in the que for the spray booth. One of those "when we can squeeze it in" jobs...

Thanks. I'll check that out.

Edit: for some reason I thought you were talking about the truck.

I do move the Challenger's steering wheel toward me, but it's not enough.
Maybe there's a perfect spot for the seat that might work for me, but I haven't found it yet.
And if I ever do come close, my wife gets in the car and changes everything...

Congrats on the new vehicles!! And great news the Charger is getting closer to coming home. :2thumbs:

Dave,you should have held out for the Hellcat.

I just up traded my 08 Avenger with the 2.7 4sp, for 11 Avenger with the 3.6 and 6 sp. My 08 was just shy of 104k kms with nary a problem other than tires, battery and brakes which I consider like an oil change (normal maintenance).I just turned 35k kms on the 11 on the drive home and it comes with an extended warranty till October 2017. :)

I thought about the Hellcat....

There was a 100th Anniversary R/T there as well.
4 grand for badges and a two tone interior wasn't making any sense.
Besides, my wife didn't like the colour of the interior. It was a leather in that kind of reddish brown that you see in the Laramie pickups, but a bit redder. And the car was red as well.
 
I've installed a hitch carrier, a bug deflector, got the truck Krowned, and installed a Bed Tred liner and tonneau cover.

I couldn't get a decent picture of the cover because it was getting dark.
I'll snap one tomorrow. It's pretty cool. Very low profile and it's a tri-fold wth solid panels, but has one continuous piece of vinyl on top. So, it looks like a one piece soft top.

I wanted some seat covers, but they were back ordered. I'm kind of glad because they were expensive and it was a it of an impulse decision to add them to my order.
 
You should have gone with a spray in liner. The drop in ones have a tendancy to shift and scuff and trap water leaving rust a place to start unseen.

That's why I got this one. It won't move.
But I can take it out to clean the bed.

I didn't want the spray or rolled type because once it gets beat up, you're kinda stuck - and I've seen them flake off.

I prefer the drop in liners too. I've had to do some repair work in trucks with spray-in liners and can always tell when someone tries to spray in a patch. I've seen them flake, tear, and gouge fairly often. Rust can form underneath them too.
 
Personally, I just prefer to beat the shit out of the bed as originally intended. It's a truck fer Pete's sake! At most I'd get a rubber mat to keep stuff from sliding so easily, and in fact am thinking about one for my Dakota.
