SOLD! This trans now belongs to Stretch.
1969 4-speed transmission for sale from a Dart 340. This is the earlier 2.66:1 first gear trans, iron case close-ratio. It is NOT an aluminum-case overdrive unit. It fits the following models:
Dart, Duster, Valiant, Demon, Dart Sport, Scamp, Aspen, Volare, Diplomat, Fifth Avenue, '77-81 LeBaron RWD, '82-up Gran Fury, '76-'80 Road Runner, Mirada, '80-up Cordoba, and '81-'83 Imperial. This transmission was for my project '81 LeBaron coupe, but the plan has changed. However, I spared no expense in rebuilding this trans since the old plan included serious power and extremely high RPM. The following NOS Mopar items were used:
Synchro rings (NOT the Mopar Performance or aftermarket units, which are softer and often distorted)
Both shift forks, one of which I was told was the last one in existence by the local dealer
Front bearing retainer (again, not the MP unit which was not available when I bought it)
Output yoke bushing
Backup lamp switch
All bearings are either Timken or BCA, seals are National. The output shaft seal does have the protective dust boot.
It was rebuilt 4 years ago. It's been sitting in my basement, wrapped in plastic ever since. Between buying the trans, all the NOS goodies, and having it professionally rebuilt I've got over $800 invested in it. You could not buy and rebuild a transmission as nice as this for my asking price. I don't have have a shifter, linkage, etc. I do have the correct shifter mounting plate and bolts, which are included. I didn't take pics because I don't want to take it out of the plastic.
If you want to pay the extra shipping, I'll throw in a 10.5" aluminum small-block bellhousing. No dust shield or fork, but the pivot is there.
