89 Dippy update

Robertson_Tech

Dopameans and SodaPals proud dad.
The '89 dippy will get new seats and doors found a nice 5th ave at the junk yard.

Question on this odd '89 teen with the roller cam how do I convert to magnum heads? My question is the roller cam lifters can I just use the one from a doner magnum or? See thread

Yes I gave this away but the new owner is the guy who is keeping my sofa out of the rain so I want to finish what I had planned to do, any way the seats were at the pull a part yard here at 5 PM and if I head there after work and pull them at 8 am I should snag them first...

What's up Dr. Bill? Still working on the Dip I see. I have no idea how to answer your question, but I figured I'd bump you to the top of the new post list and say Hi.

My mom called me the other day. Some guy came into her work selling an old dodge, and she thought I might be interested. I called the guy up and you're going to love the story!

I contacted him about the "old dodge" for sale. He's a mail man, and found an old yellow dodge sitting in someone's back yard. The owner told him that the car was her son's, and he had passed away in 1984. The car had been parked in her back yard ever since! He continued to tell me that it has 38,000 orginal miles on a 4-speed yellow 383 66 cornet. He doesn't have email or a digital camera, but agreed to mail me some pictures. Asking price is 2k, he said there is some fender damage, and he's working on getting the title. If it has AC I'm going to get it!

This showed up the other day and I have a week off from work! I picked up a swamp cooler for the garage as well so it should make for a good vacation!

You'll need heads, pushrods and the roller lifters from the magnum engine.
I can set you up with all of it.

Mark.

Dude
Great news on the 66 cornet( if it has AC) good to hear from you, I may be looking to move back to az depends on how the layoff stuff goes.. So the charger is not lauching with the ladder setup so are you changing it again?

Mark
What do you want for the setup?

On the Dip I did get the really nice seats I replaced one of my damaged doors with a 5A door and the trim is just wrong any one know how to remove the trim on a 5A door? or is it easer to change the power windows? I found nice Grand Fury doors with the same trim as my SE dip but they have manual windows and door locks... i would just change to manual windows but the inside color was blue and the new leather seats are blue, the Grand Fury doors have light tan door panels, will not match the blue.. I tried to use a prybar and pop the old trim off but it seams to be bolted, but I can not find the bolts...

I got the 5a door and seats also door panels I would not try to put a 5a door on a SE again you will have to take the vinal top off or the vinal off the door.

Here is the pic I took when I was replacing the door panels
here is 1/2 and 1/2

I love the Dippy's, I just don't like the ones with the chrome part on the top of the grille. I have found 2, I'm just waiting until I get a DODGE truck, and my 'Cuda home first...BTW anyone want to buy a decent 88 F250 gas hog? (460/C6, 4.10)
