Headlight washers? I didn't know that was on the menu back then.

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, they had some off the wall options back then. The foot-pedal operated windshield washer was another one. A friend of mine had a '67 XR-7 with that.

The Duster I parted had a foot operated washer pump, I still have it as a matter of fact.

I want the headlight washers for my Charger.

There is a fellow here locally who has a 71 charger R/T 440/6 4 speed...pilot car. He found it many years ago and has done an OK resto on it..still not complete though. Anyway it has the headlight washer system....pretty cool option.

71...Try looking for one from a 70/71 Fury...this option was a bit more popular on those C-body cars. I have come across a couple sets from the fury. I bet they could be made to work on the charger...or might even be the same system just with different mounting brackets etc?

It was only available on hideaway-headlamp cars, and though I'm not sure I think '71 was the only year (on Chargers).

It's available on Imperials also, all the same parts. There is an NOS switch and washer pump on eBay. Switch doesn't seem out of line, but that pump seems a little high to me.

I've seen the washers in brochures, etc., but the only car on which I ever actually saw them was a '71 Charger SE.

If the test car was a "loaded car", one would think it would have disc brakes. The original discs on the Black Bitch were plenty effective, but pad technology had probably come a long way in 24 years. It still had the original rotors, though.

One of my first body and paint jobs was my Dad's neighbor's '71 Imperial. It had the headlamp washers and they worked. It was pretty cool to a 16 year old. :) The Imp also had a floor mounted cassette player.
The car is still sitting at his house in Cape Breton, hasn't moved since he died in 1987. :( Pretty sad looking now... it was a beautiful car back then.

I saw it on the Charlotte Motor Speedway '71 Charger R/T pace car at Carlisle this past year. That car is very cool! It's a 440 Magnum/auto, in addition to the hide-a-ways, it's a sunroof car with power windows and it's 105,000 mile survivor.

Sad about that Imperial Resto, shame to see any of them just waste away...

I just got my Dr. Diff wheel bearing spacer kit to put my big rotors on my stock spindles :)

LOOKY what just turned up on eBay!!!

I may have to rethink my choice, without motors, wiring, sprayers and I'm sure there are more items that I'll need, the parts are already over $300...
