68 Console

XLR8R

exhalted master of his nuts
My 68 Charger came with a console, amongst other things stashed in its belly....the question I have is, what year console was metal ribbed, like mine? Kinda looks like the 67 style, but on the newer chassis. No woodgrain...I will try and get a pic tomorrow if the elevator works. :)

I thought John-Boy said it came out of the same car the brakes came of off. 1970?

:hmmm: Wonder if it's anything like what we found in the trunk of one of 69.5's fishys when we got her home and all cleaned out:toot:

Consoles and shifters are kind of strange..sometimes I think they just put whatever they found in a box... I have the woodgrain console but the chrome knob.... I thought it was supposed to be woodgrain...

A bright shift knob is correct for 1968.
Simulated woodgrain wasn't used until 1969.

As for the console top, I have seen 68's with both ribbed and smooth topped console plates. *shrugs*

this one is definately ribbed like a dimestore condomn. Probably as airtight too. :D

*picks the crazy Dutchies fingers off my console*

Errr, nothing...go on with yah now!
