or something.....
Or lack of. Anyhow, I'm actually going to get started in earnest this time (not just sitting in the car drinking beer, hoping it'll do itself). Here's the before pics. It's a 383 4 speed car, but the original engine is long gone. When I got the car, it had a 440 that sounded like a diesel. Upon teardown, I found machine shavings in every bearing, and the crank is only good now to turn down for a lowdeck buildup. The block was also cracked, and the mounting boss for the water pump was broken on the driver's side, and repaired with bondo. The new engine is a C440HP intended for my R/T (the r/t doesn't have a 4 speed, therefore I'm not as motivated to do it). I have a new pearl white interior from Legendary, and two gallons of House of Kolor Cobalt blue. I also have a set of Wilwood discs, and a new 3.91 SG centersection, along with a new set of SS springs. It's basically the same suspension setup I used in my Belvedere, and it drove nice. The car has no rust in the floors or trunk, and a hint of it around the passenger's rear wheel opening. As I get the paint off, I'll post pics, so we can see what's under all that dead blue paint. I took the pics this morning, and when I move it out to the shop, I'll take a bunch more.

Manual steering- good. Original 4 speed car - good. Looks like it used to be white. Are you staying with closed chamber heads then?:hmmm:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The rock scientist who owned the car before me, (that's right, the one who assembled the engine) for some unknown reason, cut the steering shaft, and then welded it back together crooked. Rather than go through all the effort of cutting and re-welding it straight, he, being a man of super genious, simply relieved the column of its bearings. So, I need another steering shaft and bearings, or simply another column. As far as the heads go, I have the open chamber pistons, so I'll use a set of ported 906's I have in the shop. Still have the 915's, but they stay with the R/T.

Hopefully thats the only cave man wrenching you run into. A decent column shouldnt be too hard to find. I like open chambers.[smilie=f:

Shhhh!, I got the wife believing that line:bravo:

He probably couldn't figure out the right way to align the steering wheel so it was straight and level while he was travelling in a straight line. Yup, sounds like a real weiner there. LOL :p

Very nice!!,and all the oem 4 speed stuff seems intact,(alot harder to find than engine stuff),even the fiberglass hump looks in great shape. Pretty sure it needs an engine wiring harness tho'......
