ill shoot a few pic's today but explain now...
get a small pile of that tube steel you used on the nose..remove windshield and make a extreamly snug template of the windshield area out of the square tube...this way the tube frame will not only give you something to mark where you have cut the original roof but you can then move the template to the replacement roof and copy your mark in a spot close to the original or in the exact spot...i prefer to make several cuts and slowly bring it to perfection...once both are cut the template not only helps you clamp and align the pilars but will NOT allow you to have the roof to short..it will also show you if the roof is to high and built right it will actualy square up the entire front section of the roof.......when i did the 69 fastabck for a friend useing a 67 roof..i made a template of the windshield rear window and 2 semi door templates that clamped in at the strikers door sil, front pillar, and roof line area of the door.....with the door template and front and rear templates it was next to imposible to not get the roof square...i thought all of this up from scratch after the body shop that did his roof had his
1/4- 1/2 up on the front drivers side
1/4- 1/2 down on the front passenger side
1/4-1/2 up on the passenger rear
1/4-1/2 down on the driver rear
needless to say i got me first attempt at a roof swap due to incompitant body shop...few years later and i cant even find my welds on the car
