ok ive gotten into "scale" r/c rock crawling..and "scale" trucks do not allow a dig....there logic is that its to hard to put a dig on a 1:1 truck...HOWEVER a dig exists in a PRODUCTION 4x..ALL subaru 4x4's have a dig

whats a dig you ask?...a dig is the ability to "unlock" the rear from the engine..basicaly makeing a 4X4 a FWD which is usefull in crawling and climbing........

but thats only part 1 of a dig..
part 2 is "locking" the rear in place via an E-brake while still unlocked from the engine and front end

initialy my brain was saying turn a dodge transfercase around and you have a dig...well that was just dumbassed as it would still opperate the same way......obviously the "cheat" way to do it would be to run a front axle locking hub setup in the rear....lets just rule that out for now

soo now for the question..and guys think outside of the box but try and think of "stock" parts and ways to do it with wrecking yard parts.....how would one put a "dig" unit onto say ANY 72-80 dodge truck/ramcharger

Someone makes, or made, such a kit for a Dana 20 transfer case at one point, but I think the idea for that kit came from a unique way in which you can break a D20. The reason I say that is because my friend's '67 Bronco does this, and has a stone-stock but broken D20 t-case. Oh, it works just fine in all modes, but if the t-case shifter is at the top of the reverse-J pattern, he can push it to the right, pull back, and it will disengage the rear driveshaft and cruise around in FWD high range. He was whipping doughnuts on ice one night and hit pavement, and it blew the rear driveshaft off the truck. I saw him later in the night, and pulled up along side him, and sho' nuff, the rear output yoke wasn't turning.

He's never taken it apart to find out why it does this, because he's afraid he might "fix" it and lose the ability to do it.

i want to see the Lloyd done first and painted. then you can play 4x4,s... or go to your room.:bwuhaha:

im just bashin ideas orvil...lloyd isnt going on the back burner...i SWEAR.....altho its been tarped and outside since the show ..but thats cause i did a FULL clean and re-organize of the shop..and now im having to pull the 69 from behind the shop.....as well as dealing with fallen trees...once the 69 is pulled out(in the next few days) the lloyd will go back into its home and progress will resume
