413 motorhome motor

I have a chance to pick up a motor home free. I have to haul it away. The motor is a 413. I know these have extra webbing and better cooling. Do these 413 have all the same mounting bosses for power steering, ect. How much can these be bored? I am building a stroker and figure this motor would be a good strong starting point. Am I right. I am going to use the generator, furnace, stove , oven and the three way fridge in my deer hunting shack. I would think the trannies in these are pretty strong (maybe an hemi auto) I'll save that for another project. Thanks

A 413 would be a particularly bad block to start with for a stroker. First off, no one will stock a piston for a stroked 413. $custom, baby. Second, the bottom end (like any tall deck including the 440) will be weaker than a lowdeck-the main webbing is thinner.

What you would end up doing is spending extra money to get less cubic inches and strength than if you had simply picked any old 400 block and used it.

On the block strength thing, go to 440source.com and scroll down to near the bottom. There you will find a link to a page on their site concerning blocks. Read it carefully, it'll probably surprise you as to the characteristics of the different mopar production big blocks.
