"The Urbee 2 is strong as steel, half the weight of a conventional vehicle, and can be manufactured in a warehouse full of plastic-spraying 3D printers. The teardrop-shaped 3D-printed car is an ecologically sound hybrid, and it looks cool, too. Aerodynamic and futuristic, this car could be a total game-changer for the automobile industry, leading to a rise of small-batch automakers."

Pretty interesting that the technology has gotten to this point already. Fully automated process.

I'd like to know more about the engine/hybrid system.

As for the "green" aspect, having a car that is low emission is fine, but what did it take to create it, what will it take to maintain it, and what will it take to dispose of it/recycle. it.
If it's a wash, or worse, I'll keep my dino juice burner.

my understanding of 3d printers is grind it back to powder and reuse...or something like that..and its recycled plastic anyway.....so the onlything that would be old fashioned would be brakes engine and trans..fact is i think even the suspension components can be made on the printers....and certainly the glass would need to be glass..i could be off base on the recycling but 3d printers have come leaps and bounds..in fact you can make them fairly easily...it wont be long before you can walk into a bestbuy and buy one for a a wallet full of bills
