Normally reliable source oh2o has weighed in on the engines for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler and 2019 Jeep pickup — and they are a surprise.
Not the gasoline V6 —it remains the 3.6 literexpected by most. Not even the diesel, which many had predicted would be the VM 3.0 V6 used in the Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500, despite capacity issues and Jeep’s long-time reliance on VM fours. Assome noted in the Allpar forums,a VM four cylinder would be longer than a V6, leading to packaging problems when the eight-speed automatic is already pressing the issue of the short-wheelbase Wrangler’s length.
