2010 Dodge Viper - Auction - Monterey, CA - "Just 500 or so Vipers were be built for 2010, the final year for the last Dodge branded model. As a way to add to the send-off, Dodge brand CEO Ralph Gilles prepared a few special low-production editions as part of that run.
The first limited model announced was the VoooDoo Edition, which saw its debut at the 2009 L.A. Auto Show. A sinister take on the hard-core ACR track machine, adding carbon-fiber Aero bits that included a redesigned-for-2010 rear wing, a track-ready suspension, Brembo calipers and StopTech rotors, bigger rubber and a short-throw shifter over the standard Viper. Additionally, the VoooDoo Edition stuff included special Viper Black metallic paint with Graphite and Red striping. The striping carries over to the steering wheel as well.
In total, just 31 Viper SRT-10 ACR VoooDoos were built, but one fewer was made available to the public; a plaque on the dash of the L.A. Show Car read that it belonged to Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles.
The example offered here without reserve in Monterey by Russo and Steele is car number two. Its original purchaser saw the aforementioned show car at the L.A. Auto Show, spoke to Gilles at length and ordered the next one built on the spot. After having Gilles autograph the console next to its number plaque, he took delivery just a few short months prior to his tragic death in July of 2011, during which time the car was barely driven and kept in his climate controlled garage under its factory-supplied car cover. With just a few hundred miles on the odometer, the car remains absolutely as-new and is being sold only to settle the estate of its original owner."
