2004 Dodge Ram

2004 Dodge Ram - $28,995 - Charlotte, NC - Chrysler didn't invent the muscle truck but they certainly perfected it. Who would have thought shoving a Viper V10 into a full-sized Dodge Ram would create one of the most entertaining machines ever built? With just 24140 original miles this clean unabused unmodified 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 will make you re-think performance. Why put almost 500 horsepower in a heavy-duty truck? Why not! The big bad brash Ram thrives on being a study in contrasts a truck with the heart of a muscle car or a muscle car disguised as a truck? Can it be both? The look seems to suggest that it wants to be with the big-rig Ram shape enhanced by a host of body mods that simply scream performance. From the deep air dam and front bumper to the gaping hood scoop to the hard-shell tonneau cover with integral wing this ain't subtle in any way shape or form. It's a brick that can punch a 160 MPH hole in the wind and that my friends takes some serious power. The bright red paint screams at you and it's got a set of ghost flames licking across the hood because well why bother trying to be subtle in something like this? It's in fantastic condition like most SRT-10 models simply because they're toys not daily drivers and if it's ever seen rain it was only briefly. A bedliner implies that it's ready to work which it is but we're guessing that you won't haul building supplies with it. You WILL haul something else however... The interior is a driver's environment that seems to ignore truck standards. It's not designed for a guy on a worksite with bulky gloves and a heavy coat it's got power bucket seats with leather and grippy suede inserts that grab you and hold you in place. It's got a center console with a 6-speed manual transmission. And it's got a fat steering wheel and a full array of gauges that are more Viper than Ram. Auxiliary dials on the A-pillar offer additional information not found on the factory gauges and they all have silver faces so they work well together. Everything was standard on the SRT-10 including A/C power windows and locks power seats and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system and this one also comes with a navigation system that was a rather expensive option. A sliding rear window is a nice pickup-truck-only feature that is welcome even on the SRT models. The Viper's V10 is an easy fit in the cavernous Ram engine bay and it totally transforms the truck. Somehow they got this flying brick to stay on the road when you channel 500 horsepower through it and the engine is completely stock so you know it hasn't been raced or abused. The red valve covers make no bones about this engine's origins like a vintage hot rodder's engine swap to show off the latest tech. It's linked to the Viper's 6-speed manual gearbox so you shouldn't break anything no matter how hard you try (not that we advise abusing it) and the suspension was heavily revised to make the Ram a capable handler if not exactly agile. The bellowing dual exhaust system quiets down on the highway in overdrive and despite the gigantic 22-inch wheels and 305/40/22 radials it rides reasonably well. A sure-fire future collectable (only around 3000 made) and a flat-out blast to drive today there are still very few vehicles more outrageous than a Ram SRT-10. Call today!
