1999 Dakota R/T, needs some work.

Mark Nixon

The Best Fun In The World Is Right There,
1999 Dakota R/T, blue exterior, gray interior.
Has @ 194,000 miles on it, needs a heater core, windshield, some front end work and has some very, very repairable rust issues.

I was going to rip it apart and put a Cummins 4bt in it, then realized that it's kind of a hard truck to come by and figured it would be better that it goes to someone that will appreciate it for what it really is.

I'd like to get $1500/obo for it.

If you're interested, please reply here, PM or call me at 402-780-5127.

That was exactly my thoughts when I bought the R/T, but I hate to ruin it.
The 4bt is For Sale, but it ain't cheap.
It's a P-7100 pump engine, highly sought after and hard to get.

You can't ruin a Dakota R/T any worse than it was on the showroom floor. Back in my Atlanta days, there was a dealer down there that was so pissed that the Dakota R/T was such a slug, they ordered a bunch of stripper standard-cab, 318/5-speed 2WD Dakotas, all with 3.92 Sure Grips... the 360 wasn't available with a manual trans back then. Those trucks were rockets compared to the R/T.

I was briefly interested in buying one of them, but then I remembered that trucks are only for towing or hauling stuff and performance should be left to cars.

i know someone who wants that motor ALOT more than i do..... :toot:
id have alot of fun with it tho thats for sure!!!

Well, the NV3500 (AX15) is a real crappy tranny, which Dodge KNEW and that's why they didn't end up behind the 360s.

Since its such a pile, I'll send it to the scrappers, I suppose. :D
Wouldn't be the first time it happened.:shifty:

Uh, the AX15 doesn't even fit an NV3500 bellhousing, and I never knew that New Venture built Aisin transmissions, or vice-versa. From my understanding, the Aisin trans was long-gone by the time the R/T debuted... that's just what I've found my search for an AX15 bellhousing to mate my 340 to a Supra Turbo R154 5-speed.

The NV3500 might be a piece of crap, but it's no AX15.

My point was that either are are pile of crap, adapting an NV4500 would be the better plan.
