1979 Dodge Lil' Red Express - $24,900 - manchester, NH - This Lil Red Express has had only 3 owners since new. Originally from TN until 2000, then the second owner lived in CA and owned the truck until 2008. From 2000 until 2003, the truck had gone through a ground up restoration process. The engine was rebuilt, 360 V8 #'s matching, .030 thousands over, rebuilt to stock specs. Torque Flite automatic with an upgraded gear vendors overdrive unit installed in 2003. This is one of only 5,118 units produced in 1979. Refinished in Dodge Viper Red, gives this truck a vibrant high gloss finish. The body was extremely solid before the restoration and mostly N.O.S. parts were used. Keeping it in the family, the truck then went to ME. Always garaged and well cared for, with owner history. Only driven sparingly to local shows and cruise nights, the exterior body and paint looks much brighter than factory color Canyon Red. Brilliant bright work, chrome bumpers, trim, glass and emblems that are show quality. Compete N.O.S. wood, refinished in Dutch varnish and several coats of urethane. New windshield rubbers, beautiful tinted glass with the Pentastar logo. N.O.S. roof drip rail stainless moldings, flawless oak wood bed using all stainless hardware through out the exterior. Chrome step boards and dual smoke stack shields that look as nice as the day it came from the factory. Dual factory side mounted mirrors, rear tail gate chains are also in fantastic condition, gold accent stripes and Lil Red Express logo is in perfect shape. Very impressive factory 15" chrome wheels with no pitting or rust mounted on a set of BF Goodrich TA radials P275/60 15" raised white radial tires. Beautiful N.O.S. front grille. The options on this nicely restored example: Factory AC, orig. R12 Freon...works perfectly. PS, PFDB, tinted glass, HD 63 amp alternator, am/fm stereo, light group HD sway bars, exterior cargo light, glove box lock, 18 gal. fuel tank, under carriage tire carrier w/spare, 1,650lb. rear spring, 9 1/4 rear w/3.55 axle ratio, Tuff steering wheel, cigarette lighter, full gauges, ext. cargo light and interior hood release and factory chrome 15" wheels. Looking inside, you'll notice the 60/40 split bench with a buddy seat, new carpet, seat covers, wood grain, door panels, visors, door hardware, factory seat belts -A1 condition. Comfortable seats that are firm and have a fresh factory appearance with no wear or tear. The instrument cluster shows well. Notice the aftermarket tach and clock that is neatly installed in the dash. Chrome trim, wood grain dash, vents and interior kick panels look freshly restored. Only one flaw noticed on the entire interior is a tiny crack on the glove box door, only noticeable when the door is open. Orig. sill plates, gear vendors overdrive switch is installed under the dash. The frame is refinished in satin blk, new body mount kit. Mopar shocks, new exhaust w/catalytic converter, dual Flow Master mufflers gives this truck a nice throaty sound. Rebuilt front end components were also used during the restoration. New sway bar links, brake hoses, new ground straps from the cab to the bed. Trucks like these are very expensive to restore due to the price of parts. This rare example has a fresh factory appearance with the vibrant Viper Red paint, it really stands out.
