1978 Jeep Cherokee - $25,900 - Grand Rapids, MI - GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1978 Jeep Cherokee Sport for purchase. The Cherokee ''SJ'' was produced from 1974 to 1983 and was promoted as the ''sporty'' version of the Jeep Wagons. For the first time the term ''Sport Utility'' appears, in the 1974 sales brochure. These 4x4 vehicles were rugged but comfortable enough for daily use and are the predecessors to the modern SUV boom in the 1990's.
This '78 Jeep Cherokee Sport was purchased out of a collection that was stored indoors for a long period of time. The current owner took this clean example and fully restored it this year. This Cherokee has tons of curb appeal with a Robust Red and White paint combination. It's powered by a believed to be original 360ci V8 engine and 3-speed automatic transmission. Inside and out the truck retains a very original appearance, but does have some upgrades for performance and reliability. It features a new dual exhaust, MSD ignition, harmonic balancer, new cam shaft, new pistons, new valves, Holley carburetor, Edelbrock intake, new upholstery, new gas tank, and a new fuel pump. This is a rarely found body style and this one is in excellent condition inside, outside, and underneath. Please call or email for more details!

Fully restored except for all the shit he changed. He must really like it, because he's not actually trying to sell it at such a ridiculous price. This isn't a luxurious Grand Wagoneer, it's a base Cherokee and paying half would be $5,000 too much.

At least the fuel economy and driveability suck with that non-vacuum distributor.
